Daffodils at Boothby Graffoe Church

Daffodils at Boothby Graffoe Church

I created this cheerful painting as a wedding gift for my neighbour’s daughter. The field behind the daffodils is the paddock where the family keep their horses.

The beautiful bride insisted upon holding her wedding reception in a marquee on the paddock. Unbeknown to me at the time, the paddock held sentimental meaning for her.

The bride and groom enjoyed a perfect day and are delighted with their very special gift. It made me so happy to know they appreciated my painting; and even more so, as this is only the fourth pastel painting I have created.

Why Kay Johnson Art?

I have always wanted to learn how to paint, ever since I became aware of my uncle's wonderful landscape oil paintings.
I am very much a beginner. This website is a diary of my journey as I learn to become a decent artist.
