Early Challenges Setting Up My Kay Johnson Art Website!

Despite being a web developer setting up this website has been far from an easy task. I am not very familiar with WordPress for a start, and could have coded this site in half the time it has taken so far!
So why have I opted for WordPress? The answer is Plugins… When it comes to Plugins, this is where you score on time.
I chose the paid for DIVI Theme. DIVI provides a lot of features, flexibility and makes editing pages very easy. Again there is a learning curve with DIVI!
I was going nuts setting up just a very simple and basic Home page, despite some really good tutorials on the Elegant Themes website, until I came across www.diywithdivi.com I have no idea who this person is but I could hug them! Their You Tube videos have saved me hours and hours of frustration!
Interestingly, www.diywithdivi.com also recommend SiteGround as the web host, as does Paul Foxton from www.learning-to-see.co.uk
Until recently I was using Hostgator, but have now moved to SiteGround. So far I have found SiteGround much faster both when loading websites and working in WordPress, and their support is infinitely superior by a mile.

Why Kay Johnson Art?
I have always wanted to learn how to paint, ever since I became aware of my uncle's wonderful landscape oil paintings.
I am very much a beginner. This website is a diary of my journey as I learn to become a decent artist.

Once your site is set up you can focus on your art. It looks nice. Clean and simple.
Thank you Cate. It has taken ages, mainly due to a lack of time.
